Blaenavon Civic Society Launches New Magazine

In December 2019, the Blaenavon Civic Society launched its new magazine ‘Townscape | Treflun’. The new publication aims to increase awareness of the significance of the Blaenavon Conservation Area and provide practical advice on how to care for a heritage building. It also includes social history and creative content.

The first edition also includes a charming Christmas story by talented Torfaen-based author Lisa Powell, who has conveyed poignantly the hardships faced by families in Wales during Victorian times.

Hard copies have been made available to houses within the Blaenavon Conservation Area and additional copies are available from Blaenavon World Heritage Centre and Library.

The publication has been supported by the Blaenavon Townscape Heritage Programme, a heritage-led regeneration scheme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other partners.
